Exploring Research – The Innovation Tour of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry

The knowledge and technology transfer of the Cluster of Excellence “The Future Ocean” is working closely together with the network of commerce and industry. Therefore joint events by the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel and the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Kiel are being organized by the Cluster.

The members of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Northern region as well as all interested scientists, Ph.D. students and postdocs are very welcome to hear the presentations and join in on the subsequent tours!

New adhesive and non-stick surfaces modeled on nature

Institute: Zoologisches Institut an der Universität Kiel
Address: Funktionelle Morphologie und Biomechanik, Am Botanischen Garten 1-9, 24118 Kiel

The working group of Prof. Dr. Stanislav Gorb at Kiel University combines in unique way biological and engineering questions. Prof. Dr. Stanislav Gorb and Dr. Lars will provide insights in their newest fields and point on successful cooperation between industrials companions. They show, on how many novel surfaces a high number of tasks can be accomplish. The division works in close collaboration with allies from economy on the development of the "Gecko-Tape", which sticks without glue on even surfaces and on the development of Anti-adhesions-foils/Anti-slip-surfaces for applications in marine environments (The language will be German).
