We open the „black box" of peer review, going through the steps from manuscript submission to the final decision. Learning how the system works will help you getting your papers published.

The aim of this workshop is two-fold:
You will develop your own publishing strategy: how to handle the review process as an author, how to deal with referee comments, and how to respond to editors. Additionally, you will learn the tasks and responsibilities of a referee and how to do a good, fair and constructive review.

Finally, we will discuss our own experiences as authors and reviewers and dwell on future models of publishing and refereeing.
Between the three meetings, you will be given the task to act on a case example as a referee (read a manuscript and write a review report) and as a responding author
(respond to review), or as an handling editor (read two reviewer reports and come to a decision regarding the manuscript).
