Analysis of Univariate Data Sets - First Steps in R

Dr. Mark Lenz, GEOMAR

04 February 2019
09:00 – 16:00 h

Leibnizstraße 1, room 105a

The workshop will introduce participants to the free statistical computing software R, which currently becomes the standard tool for statistical analysis in many fields of natural sciences. It addresses absolute beginners who have not been working in the R environment on beforehand. Furthermore, we will follow a "how-to-do" approach throughout the course and will therefore not cover the underlying theory of the statistical procedures met.

Course Content:

| Data handling in R: vectors and dataframes
| Extracting information from vectors, filtering and sorting data
| First analytical steps: simple graphs, assumption testing, t-test and power analysis
| Statistical modelling in R: ANOVA and regression

ISOS candidates have priority in our courses.
Usually, child care can be provided – please get in touch with us as soon as possible.
