Grant Writing for Scientists: How to Write a Successful Proposal

Dr. Christina Schütte, ProSciencia GmbH, Lübeck

16 April – 17 April 2018
daily: 09:00 h – 17:00 h

Location
Leibnitzstr. 1, room 105

Writing a proposal means promoting your science! With your proposal you need to convince the reviewers that your project is more relevant, more important and more promising than those of your competitors and that hence the money should be going to you. This isn't easily done and there are several do's and don'ts to consider.
Participants will be familiarised with the strategies for successful grant applications to various funding bodies like the EU, the BMBF or the DFG. The corresponding funding principles will be exemplified in exercises for preparing work plans and writing of grant abstracts.
Please note: the course participants will be asked to write a short "mini-grant application" in preparation to the course and to evaluate proposals of other participants.

Voices from previous participants:
"I have the feeling that I am better prepared now for writing a grant application"
"The complete course was very useful especially when they explained the way that the projects are evaluated and the common mistakes."
"The feedback of the mini grants was great."

ISOS candidates have priority in our courses.
Usually, child care can be provided – please get in touch with us as soon as possible.
