I am an analytical marine geoscientist with a passion for multivariate data analysis and geographic information systems (GIS). I further advocate for open science and data sharing. My main scientific focus lies on investigating the ocean floor by hydroacoustic means and on the discovery and description of seafloor environments. I also want to use the knowledge I gained as a scientist to contribute to the mapping and protection of the world's oceans. I currently work in the EU's Horizon 2020 project AtlantOS that focuses on optimising and enhancing the integrated Atlantic Ocean Observing Systems. One of the goals is to compile Europe's bathymetric data holdings and integrate them into existing open access data systems, in accessible formats enabling easy processing and visualization for decision-makers and stakeholders.
