The Cluster of Excellence "The Future Ocean" is one of the core projects of Kiel Marine Sciences. Our mission is to use the results of multidisciplinary scientific research on the development of the ocean in order to predict the future of the earth’s marine environment and to develop and assess scientifically-based global and regional ocean governance options, including their legal, economic and ethical aspects.
