Kiel Institute for the World Economy (IfW)

The Kiel Institute for the World Economy (IfW) is one of the largest centres for global economic research, consultation on economic policies, economic education and documentation for economic science.

The institute's main aims are to conduct research into innovative solutions for pressing global economic problems. On the basis of this research, the institute acts as a consultant to decision makers in politics, economics and the community and informs interested members of the public about important aspects of economic policy. In its function as a gateway to the world of global economic research, it cultivates a broad network of national and international experts, whose research either directly or indirectly feeds into the research and consultation activities of the institute. The Institute for World Economics puts particular emphasis on economic education and further education and has the largest library collection on economic science and social sciences in the world.
