Knowledge Transfer and Outreach
The Cluster transfers expertise and knowledge through scientific publication of key results, participation in scientific assessments, transfer of technological options into application, development of sciencebased marine solutions for other ocean stakeholders and outreach activities for the general public.

Cluster scientists initiate and conduct joint projects with major industry partners to develop maritime technologies. They participate and initiate stake holder dialogues and have produced a substantial assessment in cooperation with the publisher Mare and the International Ocean Institute (IOI) entitled the "World Ocean Review" (worldoceanreview.com) which summarizes key findings of 10 marine issues of concern in a format easily comprehensible by the public.

The Cluster has developed an innovative marine science exhibition that has been displayed in many places throughout Germany, including the Paul Loebe Haus (House of the German Parliament) Berlin and the world famous Deutsches Museum in Munich. Moreover, the Cluster has significantly contributed to marine science school programs and initiated the first "Kids University" in Kiel.
