Currently, 130 PhD candidates participate in the ISOS PhD Programme. Almost 60% are doctoral students of the Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel (GEOMAR), the rest coming from a further 12 Institutes of the CAU from the faculties of natural sciences, law, medicine and economics. 50% of the PhD candidates are female.
